Q. Hello Doc, I am supposed to begin taking hormones as a result of a recent visit to my doctor. I'm having second thoughts on using a synthetic hormone. Can you shed some more insight about taking hormone replacements that might ease my fears? There is so much conflicting information out there that I just don't know what to think. Thank you. Vicky, Florida A. Dear Vicky, Thank you for asking. No one should go into any program unless they are educated and know exactly what they are taking and why. Let me start out by saying that I would never a...

Q.     Dear Doc,  My question is regarding uncontrolled hypertension, low body temperature and an inability to lose weight.  I'm 57, 5'4" and almost 200 lbs.  I had two Caesarian sections in my early 20's and have not really been well since.  In addition, I suffer from sciatica and pain on my right side from neck to knee.  Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Yvonne, JamaicaA.     Dear Yvonne, Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a very commo...

Q.     Dear Doc, I had a gastric bypass operation in 1999 and my gallbladder was removed. I am now taking "cholacol" bile salts as recommended by my nutritionist. They do help. I am eating a "healthy lifestyle for detoxification diet" similar to hCG. How often should I take them? I feel they help with the frequent occasional burping I experience even if I have not eaten a thing. I'm a 56 year old female, 5'9", 158 # with a BMI of 24. With thanks, KD, CaliforniaA.     Dear KD, It really depends on you...

Q.     Dear Doc, I believe that I may have an abdomen aneurysm. I get pain in my stomach and sometimes it moves from one side of my stomach to the other. I would like to know how can I ascertain if this is the actual problem, and what can I do naturally to prevent it from rupturing? Lori, USA A.     Dear Lori, An abdominal ultrasound is the safest and quickest way to check for an aneurysm ( aortic ). These usually are NOT painful. If present, a comprehensive health plan to include lowerin...

Q.     Hello Doc, I am due for a preventative mammogram. I am interested in finding out how effective a thermal scan and sonogram would be in detecting cancers or concerns. I am very much not interested in any more radiation after having so much in a short time in the past, none for cancer. Please advise. Thank you. Cheryl, USA A.     Dear Cheryl, We highly prefer self-breast exams ( looking for new, non tender, hard nodules ) as a first choice, then thermograms followed by ultrasounds. We...

Q.     Dear Doc & Donna: I have one very large gallstone with no symptoms. Can I use hCG while dieting? I have heard it will exacerbate gallstones. LB, Florida A.     Dear LB, You have two options. The first is to try the detox and expect the gallstone to dissolve and easily pass at some point. The second option is to look into lithotripsy for stone size reduction or try our gallbladder cleanse protocol first to see if it is passable. I would expect the first option to work. Hope ...

Q.     Dear Doc, Can you please advise me on the difference between taking oral BHRT vs using creams. I've even heard you can inject hormones. What is the difference and what is best? I'm really confused. Thank you VF, Florida A.     Dear VF, We came upon the ability to deliver hormones orally many years ago. We believe the technique has been available for over a decade. Both the scientific theory, intuitive ease of delivery (for the masses who need them), cost effectiveness, and most im...

Q.     Dear Doc, I have Hashimoto's. I am confused about goitrogens. I have heard that femented cruciferous vegetables have a higher goitrogen concentration. I have also heard the opposite, which is true? Thanks, Jess A.     Dear Jess, While there is biochemical truth to goitrogens and their iodine uptake blocking activity, there are much deeper foundational problems behind the all too common condition of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. There are far too many nutritious elements to the many foods ...

Q.    Dear Doc and Donna, Can you tell me the difference between a "Natural" progesterone like RX Prometrium compared to bio-identical progesterone? I recommended to a friend, who is having trouble getting pregnant for 2 years now, to try bio-identical progesterone and to contact you. Her doctor told her that Prometrium is a natural progesterone. She has been on that for a couple of months and hasn't had any success. I would love for her to contact you for an appointment. Thanks so much! DM, Chicago A.   &n...
